It gives us immense pleasure to announce the launch of the nineteenth Thistle Pin, featuring Partick Thistle Women’s FC’s two longest-serving players, Clare Docherty and Demi Falconer.

The Pin has been commissioned by TJF to commemorate the women’s team reaching the final of the Sky Sports Cup, to be played at Tynecastle on Sunday 24 March.

The Doc & Demi Pin will be available to buy from the online TJF shop, accessible by members only, on Monday 18th March at 7pm.

A memorable season

Partick Thistle Women’s FC is having another excellent season. Having finished in the top six of the Scottish Women’s Premier League 1 last season, the girls have cemented their position as one of the best sides in Scotland.

League matches against fellow part-time teams have resulted in just one loss, while a win against full-time Hibs away from home and a memorable draw against Rangers at Petershill have underlined the progress they continue to make.

They also progressed to the quarter finals of the Scottish Cup where they narrowly lost to Hearts, but the crowning achievement of this season is likely to be that Sky Sports Cup Final where Rangers will supply the opposition.

Our Vice Chair Lynsey made it along to training to surprise Doc and Demi with their Thistle Pin

Doc and Demi

Central to PTWFC’s achievements have been the performances of the team’s two longest-serving players, Clare Docherty and Demi Falconer.

Clare Docherty

Clare signed for Thistle in December 2019 from Kilmarnock and her boldness, leadership qualities and versatility – she’s played in attack, in the middle of the park and in defence for Thistle – has seen her become a firm fans’ favourite.

Doc has made 103 appearances for Thistle, scoring 19 goals, the latest of which was a stunning strike from the edge of the box in a 1-2 win against Montrose that secured the club’s second consecutive top-six finish in the top-flight.

Demi Falconer

Demi became a Thistle player in January 2020 and has gone on to be an ever-present at the heart of the Jags’ defence.

She has played 114 games for Thistle, scored six goals and her commanding and calm displays, as well as the esteem in which Demi is held by her teammates, made her the natural choice for club captain ahead of the 2022/23 season.

One of Scottish women’s football’s most consistent performers, Demi continues to catch the eye of fans, commentators and pundits and was last year named Thistle’s Player of the Year.
