Two nominations were received from among the beneficiaries by the PTFC Trust for the vacant Fan Representative Director position on the Club Board. Both candidates were shortlisted by the trustees and will therefore appear on the ballot.
Beneficiaries of the PTFC Trust will be sent information about how to cast their ballot on Wednesday 23rd September. All ballots must be cast no later than 10pm BST on Wednesday 30th September 2026.

Candidates
John Kane
I’ve been a passionate Thistle fan for over 60 years. I believe the supporters should have a meaningful voice in the decisions, direction and future of the Club.
I’ve followed Thistle since I was five, regularly going to Firhill with my dad. Later we ventured further afield, going to away games, the highlight being the 1971 League Cup Final, which I was lucky to attend. I was born in Maryhill and lived there until I turned 18. I now attend games with my sons Jordan and Josh and know many of the fans who attend both Firhill and away games.
Six decades of following the Jags means I’ve witnessed the highs and lows and everything in between. I’ve stood alongside generations of Thistle fans and shared the excitement of crucial victories and the frustration of defeats and most importantly experienced what this Club means to the people who support it.
I decided to stand for election because I believe I have the skills and attributes required to undertake this role. I’m 65 and have now been retired 4 years. I’ve worked in several senior roles within Training and Education and also operated as Managing Director of my own Business Management Consultancy firm. I’ve been involved in various boards throughout my career and understand the need to work in collegiately. Additionally, I now have the time and energy to dedicate to this role.
Throughout my professional career I developed extensive experience in leadership, business development and stakeholder engagement. As a Business Development Consultant I worked with organisations to identify opportunities, build relationships and develop strategies that deliver positive outcomes. This experience taught me to listen carefully, understand different perspectives, communicate effectively and work towards practical solutions.
As a fan-owned club we’re much more than a business. We’re a vital part of the community. A club with great inclusive traditions. An integral part of Scottish football. Our supporters are the constant. Players and managers may change but we the fans remain. We’re there through good times and bad and have a genuine stake in ensuring a sustainable and successful future.
If elected my responsibility will be to represent the fans (our Club’s owners). I’ll listen to fans’ concerns, understand what matters most and ensure views are communicated directly and constructively to colleagues. I’ll ensure all opinions are heard and taken seriously.
Fan Rep Directors should be willing to ask difficult questions, whether that be around ticket pricing, matchday experience, supporter safety, communication or the long-term direction of the Club. I’ll approach any issue with integrity, determination and transparency, ensuring fans know their concerns are being raised at the appropriate level. I’ll also improve the connection between the board and the wider fan-base, working to establish meaningful and regular dialogue so supporters can contribute to the Club’s future as opposed to reacting to decisions already made.
I’m asking for your vote for Fan Rep Director because I want to put those 60 years of experience and passion to work for all Thistle supporters.
Allan McGraw
I previously served as the club’s Fan Representative Director for 18 months, from March 2024 to December 2025. When nominations for re-election opened, I felt unable to commit due to an ongoing health matter, having suffered stroke in February 2025, together with associated fatigue. I am pleased to say that, following an 18-month gap since my stroke, my health is now good. I have also enjoyed extended travel around UK & Europe and feel fully able and energised to commit to a further two-year tenure. I will give whatever time is needed to perform the role effectively. I still have much to offer in the role and I’m keen to prove that.
As a lifelong Jags fan, season ticket holder, Jags Foundation member and Jags Trust member, I am passionate about Partick Thistle and passionately believe in the importance of fan ownership and fan representation. The Fan Representative role is an important and progressive part of our ownership journey, ensuring supporters have a strong, informed, and constructive voice at the heart of the club.
I have supported the Jags all my life, a commitment now spanning three generations, with my son, grandsons, and me all holding season tickets. Partick Thistle is much more than a football club to me; it is an important part of our family and community. I want to help ensure that the club stays fan-owned, financially responsible, and sustainable.
During my earlier time on the board, I was a fully active member, contributing across all areas of board activity. This included budget control, commercial strategy, staffing, football management changes and recruitment, and the introduction of a sporting director structure.
A key responsibility was ensuring that supporters’ views reached the boardroom. I engaged with fans and fan groups through face-to-face meetings, telephone conversations, email, video interviews, and social media. I also introduced the ‘Beneficiaries in the Boardroom’ initiative, offering another opportunity to bring supporters closer to the club they own.
My professional background provides further experience that I can bring to the role. As a Chartered Engineer with more than 30 years’ experience in supervisory and senior management positions, I have developed strong skills in performance, contract and budget management, leadership of high-performing teams and delivering change projects.
Since early retirement, I have also volunteered two days each week in the Firhill offices, supporting the club’s administrative and sales activities, in addition to my board duties. This has given me an even greater understanding of the club’s day-to-day operations.
If re-elected, I will champion fan ownership, constructive supporter engagement, and responsible decision-making, ensuring fan representation stays central to the club’s strategy and future.
My vision is for PTFC to thrive as a fan-owned club, cherished by many and admired by all, while preserving its legacy for generations to come.
