On May 10th the board of The Jags Foundation (TJF) met with representatives of Three Black Cats (3BC).

The overwhelming view of TJF was that this was a hugely positive meeting and one that underlines the commitment of 3BC to transfer the majority shareholding in Partick Thistle Football Club to TJF in as quick a time scale as legalities will allow.

Said TJF Chair Gavin Taylor; “A proper and orderly transfer of ownership of a football club from one organisation to another is not something that should be conducted in haste, with a number or practicalities to be taken into account. The untimely passing of Colin Weir, and the ongoing work relating to the settlement of his estate has not sped this important and necessary process up any.

We are, however, starting to see significant progress made. While we fully understand the desire of Thistle fans to see definitive dates provided for the transfer of the majority shareholding neither ourselves nor 3BC are in a position to do so at the moment.

Our recent meeting though did confirm that we remain not just on course to complete the process but in comparison with other transfers of club ownership, are actually ahead of schedule. We thank you for your continued patience and while it might not be readily apparent, we are approaching an exciting stage of the process”

The next important step for TJF will be concluding the setting up of a bank account, a process that during these difficult times has proven to be far more challenging that anyone could realistically have envisaged.

Once a bank account has been set up we will be in a position to start taking memberships. Meantime to be kept fully updated with all TJF activities we would urge you, if you haven’t already done so, to register your interest at our website www.thejagsfoundation.co.uk
