Message from the Returning Officer
Thank you to everyone who voted in TJF’s fourth set of elections. As the stand-in returning officer for this set of elections, I’m relieved to say everything ran smoothly!
I’m pleased to be able to bring you the results of that election in advance of our AGM on Thursday.
Turnout
The number of people who voted in TJF’s elections this year was 684.
This represents 41% of the eligible electorate.
While turnout is slightly down on last year’s election, it is still strong compared with the turnout at similar elections held at other fan-owned football clubs.
For example, The Well Society’s recent election saw 419 voters participate (a 15% turnout).
Results
The results of the TJF Board ballot 2025 are as follows:
Davie Brown
258 votes
Graeme Cowie
479 votes
Simon Dickson
368 votes
Charly McGlinchey
255 votes
Ben Parker
276 votes
Max Ramsay
215 votes
As the candidates with the three highest vote tallies, Graeme Cowie, Simon Dickson and Ben Parker have been duly elected for a maximum 3-year term (until TJF’s 2028 AGM). Each of them has confirmed their willingness to serve this morning.
New directors Simon and Ben will formally join the board from Thursday’s AGM onwards.
The future
It is heartening to see another TJF election with a strong turnout and a positive and good-natured campaign.
It would be remiss of me not to recognise the efforts of Davie Brown, Charly McGlinchey and Max Ramsay as well. The field was a strong one this year and they were unlucky to miss out on this occasion.
TJF is much more than just its elected board members, however. We know they will have an important contribution to make to the Foundation in the year ahead. Thank you for standing and helping to make this a vibrant fan democracy.
The election results will be formally noted at the AGM on Thursday. We hope to see as many of you there at Firhill as possible.
Best wishes
Jack Carson
