The ninth design in the Thistle Pins series will need no introduction to Jags fans who are regulars at Petershill on Sunday afternoons. We are delighted to announce the launch of the Hawksworth Pin.

Just over a year ago, Partick Thistle inducted Mhairi Hawksworth into the Jags Hall of Fame. Mhairi was the first member of the Thistle Women’s side to be recognised in this way. And this accolade was completely merited.

Mhairi's thistle career

Mhairi joined the Thistle Women’s team in 2015, which then operated under the umbrella of the Thistle Weir Academy.

Originally a goalkeeper for Kilwinning Sports Club, it was at the other end of the pitch that Mhairi would make her mark in red and yellow. In the 2016 season Mhairi was the SWFL 2 Central’s top scorer.

This was only the beginning. In her time in the red and yellow, and with her vital goals, Thistle would be promoted three times in six seasons, climbing the pyramid up to the top flight. Mhairi took the difficult decision in 2021 to call time on her Thistle career, to focus on her civil engineering exams.

The recent success of the Thistle Women’s team, culminating in the top-six SWPL 1 finish this season, is a testament to the hard yards of previous years, put in by people like Mhairi.

Mhairi collects her Hall of Fame award in April 2022

How can I get a Hawksworth Pin?

TJF members can purchase a limited edition Hawksworth Pin for £10 including P&P. These will go on sale at 7pm on Thursday 27th April.

Each TJF member will receive an email with a link to purchase a Pin. If you are a member and don’t receive this at 7pm on Thursday, please check your spam and then email membership@thejagsfoundation.co.uk.

How are TJF supporting the Women's Team?

It has been important for TJF to support the growth of the women’s game and the place of PTWFC in the wider Thistle community. This season we have been sponsors of the Petershill side, including as match day sponsors for three home games, against Dundee United, Motherwell and Rangers.

Additionally, the Hawksworth Pin sales will help to fundraise for the Women’s team as the 2022-23 season comes to a close. By buying a Pin, you help us to keep this good work going.

Another way you can support Brian Graham’s side is by going along to Petershill on Sunday for the big tie against Glasgow City. For more information, see the match-day hub on the Club website.
