It feels like Stuart Bannigan has been waiting forever to mark his decade of Thistle service. A global pandemic and a prolonged 2022-23 campaign got in the way, but now we’re almost there…

Banzo’s career at Thistle has had it all. Starting in the youth team, progressing all the way to a first-team regular in the top flight, a spell as club captain, league silverware (twice) and even an induction into the Jags Hall of Fame.

With the exception of a short spell at Ayr United, Banzo is the closest Thistle have got to a one-club-man in a long, long time.

The Testimonial

Banzo’s Testimonial match will be taking place on Sunday 17th September. Get yourself along to Firhill for a 3pm kick-off.

The best thing about this Testimonial is that you can celebrate all the goals regardless of which end they go in! The current Thistle squad will take on a Thistle Select, featuring players from the 2012-13 SFL First Division-winning side and a few other familiar faces from years gone past.

To find out who’s playing, follow the Banzo Testimonial Twitter page on the handle @SB8Testimonial.

Get your testimonial tickets!

You can secure your tickets for the match online now. Adults can come along for just £10 each.

In the now well-established Firhill tradition, Under 16s can attend completely free of charge. Bring the whole family along for a day of fun and games.

If you’d like to take-up the hospitality options for the game (£70 per head), please get in touch with the testimonial committee at info@banzotestimonial.co.uk.

Programmes and scarves!

To mark the occasion, there will be a special testimonial programme, and Banzo scarves, both on sale at Firhill on the day. Make sure to get your commemorative memorabilia while you’re there!

TJF's latest recruit

We are delighted to support Banzo’s Testimonial, and the TJF logo is proudly displayed on the back of the home and away testimonial shirts. Limited stock is still available on the Greaves Sports website.

The biggest highlight of the last week, though, has undoubtedly been the news that Stuart has joined TJF, becoming part of our fan-ownership community. We’re grateful to Banzo for all that he does as an ambassador for the Club, going above and beyond his duties on the pitch.
