Fan Rep Director Elections 2026 – Result

At 10pm last night (Friday 2nd October) voting closed in the Partick Thistle Fan Rep Director Election 2026.

A total of 818 beneficiaries of the just over 2,900 eligible voters took part in the secret ballot, giving a turnout of 28.1%.

The Result

The formal results and transparency log are available via TapVoter. The ballots cast for the candidates were as follows:

John Kane – 453 votes (55.4%)
Allan McGraw – 365 votes (44.6%)

As the candidate with the most votes, John Kane has won the election. He has agreed to be formally nominated by the PTFC Trust’s trustees under the Club-Trust Agreement to fill the Fan Rep Director vacancy.

What will happen next?

John Kane will formally join the Club Board later this month, subject to the usual pre-appointment checks with the governing bodies.

He will serve a maximum term of around two-years, expiring at the late 2028 (or if relevant, early 2029) Football Club Annual General Meeting.

Thank you to the candidates

Congratulations to John, with whom the trustees look forward to working in the weeks and months ahead. And thank you to both John and Allan for putting themselves forward for the democratic process.

Fan representation is an important part of the fan ownership model, and the Fan Rep Director roles are there to put fan-focused perspectives and priorities at the heart of what the Club’s senior leadership team does.

Note on turnout

Overall turnout was 28.1% but varied significantly by beneficiary category. There are three different ways you can become a beneficiary, but voting is based on one-beneficiary-one-vote.

Turnout percentages by beneficiary category were as follows:

Overall Turnout – 28.1%
TJF Members – 31.6%
ST Holders/71 Club – 31.0%
Jags Trust Members – 51.9%

There is significant overlap between the beneficiary categories, and those qualifying under more than one category were statistically much more likely to have taken part in the ballot.

Turnout for combined categories was as follows:

Qualifies under all three categories – 74.5%

Is both a TJF member and ST Holder/71 Club – 42.2%
Is both a TJF member and Jags Trust Member – 62.0%
Is both a Jags Trust Member and ST Holder/71 Club – 71.0%

Turnout was significantly lower among those who were either not a season ticket holder/71 Club member or not a TJF member. This is why overall turnout is lower than for those individual categories:

Non ST-Holders – 22.5%

Non-TJF Members – 22.2%
Non-Jags Trust Members – 26.9%
