The Board of TJF has noted the update published by the Football Club this afternoon, confirming that the Scottish Football Association has ratified the change of majority control from Three Black Cats to the PTFC Trust.
We were already aware of this decision, following our own correspondence with the SFA, and the announcement is of no surprise to us.
In our view, this demonstrably is not a fan ownership outcome, for reasons which have been well aired.
It also isn’t the end of this process, or TJF’s role in it. It is absolutely vital now that comprehensive and detailed information is set out by the Club and Trust about their proposed relationship with one another. This must include:
- the publication of any agreements or memorandums of understanding between the organisations
- the publication of a clear timeline, and of detailed proposals, for changes to the trust deed
TJF stands ready to represent our support and to ensure that fan ownership is delivered, by whatever means necessary.
We will be in touch with our members soon about options for ways forward for our organisation. Ultimately we are accountable to you.
