On Wednesday 17th August we were advised by Gerry Britton that the Club Board of Partick Thistle Football Club had withdrawn its consent for The Jags Foundation to have a match-day presence within the “stadium footprint”.

It will not surprise you to learn that we disagree with the Club’s stated justification for this. However, it is ultimately a decision for them, and if this is how the Club Board wants to treat an organisation with more than 750 Thistle fans as members, so be it.

This has practical implications for future match-days, as we will no longer be able to distribute McParland Pins to our members either on the concourse in either stand, or even, we suspect, in the immediate vicinity of the ground. We have been advised that any such presence will be dealt with by their security staff.

We will be in touch with members about alternative arrangements.
