TJF Chair’s message of support for Gerry Collins

Pre-season friendlies are not always entertaining fun. But one was. On 16th July 2003, Gerry Collins first game in charge saw us take Ayr United apart in the summer sun…… 6-1 playing some scintillating football.

Quite apart from all the years being a loyal servant to John Lambie, for that evening alone, Gerry Collins gave the fans something special.

Unfortunately things didn’t work out that season for Gerry, but that was a memorable night to me. Gerry is in some ill health at the moment, and we just wanted to take this moment to remember the good times and wish him well for getting over his illness. He is entwined into our history.
