What is the AGM for?

âť“

The AGM is an annual gathering of the members of the Foundation, and is an important part of the corporate governance of TJF 1876 Limited (the company we all know as The Jags Foundation).

It allows our members to hold the leadership group, the directors, to account for TJF’s activities in the preceding year.

Members are encouraged to attend in-person at Firhill Stadium if they can.

If you can’t make it in person, you can ask to participate remotely by Zoom.

If you can’t make it at all, you can ask to appoint a “proxy” to attend physically and speak/vote in your place.

Requests for remote participation, or to appoint a proxy, must be received no later than Tuesday 4th June at 7:30pm.

What will we discuss and decide?

At the AGM the members will formally take note of two important documents.

TJF Accounts for financial year ended 30th September 2023
(Accounts and Note)

This part of the evening is (usually) routine and can be dealt with at a general meeting quite quickly. However you will have the opportunity to ask the Board questions about the Foundation’s accounts and financial health.

Proposals for Pledges

Additionally, we are inviting members to take three decisions on key financial pledges for the 2024-25 season.

The TJF Board is recommending that the members endorse:

Increasing the Foundation’s existing pledge to the Football Club from £10,000 per month to £12,500 per month

Renewing the Foundation’s pledge to the Youth Academy at £2,000 per month

Committing £5,000 of support in sponsorship and donations to the Partick Thistle Women’s Team

TJF Election Results 2024
(see Elections page)

The Chair of TJF, Andrew Holloway, will also provide a Chair’s report, summarising the many different activities the Foundation has been involved in in the last year.

We will also be announcing the result of the TJF 2024 Director Elections at the AGM.

E-ballots went out today to everyone who was a member at the start of the election period (Wednesday 1st May).

Members will have until Wednesday 29th May at 10pm to cast their ballots.

Q&A with the TJF Board

🗣️👂

After the formal business has been dealt with, there will be a Q&A session.

Members will have the opportunity to put questions to the TJF Board.

If you’d like to submit a question in advance, this would be very helpful, and we would ask you to do this by email. Doing this can help us avoid duplication and ensure as many questions get answered as possible in the time available.

However, we will also take questions on the night, both from those attending in-person and online.

More on Proxy Forms

The easiest way to apply for a proxy is to complete the online form.

However, you can also fill in a regular form and email it to secretary@thejagsfoundation.co.uk or post it to TJF’s registered office.
