Two millennia ago in Bethlehem, the Nativity story has it that Three Kings came bearing gifts for the baby Jesus.

As a tribute to that tradition, and to raise money for a good local cause, we will be launching the Three Kings Pin on Friday 16th December at 7pm.

About the Three Kings Pin

The Three Kings Pin is a limited edition Christmas Special in the Thistle Pins series. As usual, this Pin will cost £10 including P&P, and will go on sale exclusively to TJF members. Keep an eye on your emails on Friday evening!

This Pin is different from the others, in that it will feature not one, not two, but three figures from Thistle’s past.

  • John Lambie managed Thistle to two titles and a third promotion. He took the reins at Firhill four times, with success in three separate decades. Our most successful manager in last forty years, and one of our most colourful!
  • Bertie Auld managed the Jags twice with great success in the old First Division in his first tenure, and saved us from relegation in his second. A Maryhill boy, Bertie also won some Cup for a rival club in the East End as a player, but we won’t hold it against him.
  • Pat Quinn was briefly caretaker manager at Thistle, and was Bertie’s right hand man during his time at the Jags and elsewhere. He played an instrumental part in Bertie’s success.

All for a good cause

We are also delighted to announce that all of the profits from the Three Kings Pin will go to Jags For Good and its work supporting the Glasgow Baby Food Bank.

The GBFB is an initiative that helps new parents in our community through these challenging times. Earlier this week, Cove-goalscoring hero Jamie Sneddon dropped by their Springburn base to show his support.

You can also support the Glasgow Baby Food Bank at the Ayr United match on Saturday 17th December. Jags For Good will have a presence at the game. To find out more: follow @JagsForGood on Twitter.
