Supporting Proud Jags during Pride Month
Here at The Jags Foundation, we wholeheartedly believe that football is for absolutely everybody. No matter who you are, how you identify, where you are from, you are welcome and included at Firhill.
Firhill is a place that you can call home.
June marks the start of Pride Month, when the LGBTQ+ community both celebrates its diversity and calls for greater acceptance and inclusion in wider society. Within football, LGBTQ+ people still face barriers, both in the stands and on the terraces, and even in the dressing room or on the pitch.
TJF is committed to helping organisations both within the Thistle community, like Proud Jags, and the wider footballing community, like Football against Homophobia, to overcome those obstacles and to foster a welcoming environment at Firhill.
Proud Jags are a core part of the fabric of our football club. Thanks to the effort of its volunteers, Thistle was the first professional club in Glasgow to have an LGBTQ+ supporters group. They champion the growth of inclusion in football, and make sure that our fans have a safe space where they can be authentically themselves.
As a show of support, we are launching our Fly the Flag Tote Bags as our latest fundraiser. They are bright, colourful and fun, perfect for your summer holidays, and will look fantastic alongside your TJF beach towel! It’s even practical: something stylish to use out and about every day.
Part of the proceeds from the sale of these tote bags will go towards Proud Jags’s work with the Gay Football Supporters Network League (GFSN). The GFSN is a UK wide amateur football league and has two participating teams in Glasgow. The Network strives to make sure everyone gets a chance to participate in the game we all love. They welcome everyone with open arms.
Take pride in your football club, take pride in who you are, football is for everybody.

There are only 100 of these limited edition tote bags, and they’ll go on sale to members from 7pm on Tuesday 3rd June for £12 each plus P&P.
If you would prefer to collect your tote bag from Firhill, please select “Collect from Firhill” at check-out in the members’ shop.
The next collection opportunity for this, and any other shop orders, will be at TJF’s AGM on Thursday 19th June.
Because of limited supply, each member will initially be restricted to a maximum purchase of 1 bag.
